Blockchain technology,for the first time in human history,offers participants an environment for equal cooperation within Decentralized Autonomous Organizations(DAOs).The contributions of each member to a DAO can be recorded on the blockchain in a fully transparent manner.These unprecedented technological features enable companies and other forms of business organizations to upgrade and iterate their organizational structures based on blockchain's decentralized framework,potentially overcoming agency costs.Conceptually,DAOs expand the definition of a company,allowing us to reconsider the nature of business organizations and challenge various deductive approaches in corporate governance theory.DAOs are already beginning to challenge the dominant governance structures fostered by traditional agency frameworks.The ideal future governance design of DAOs will be refined through practice in business organizations,and continues to evolve and iterate.DAOs will provide ongoing normative inspiration and institutional solutions for corporate governance,particularly in controlling human risk and managing asymmetric information.
