Platelet-rich plasma(PRP)has been used as a regenerative therapy for more than 30 years in wound healing,ortho-pedics,dentistry and cosmetics,and aesthetic surgery.It is an autologous preparation of platelets in concentrated plasma at 2 to 7 times the normal concentration of whole blood.1 The popularity of PRP stems from its success rate,autologous nature,and absence of major adverse effects.In recent years,PRP has been successfully used as a treat-ment option for hair loss.
