Artificial intelligence(AI)empowering the high-quality development of physical education(PE)is a key focus of current reforms in this field,presenting both opportunities and challenges,and represents an inevitable trend for the future of physical education.This study utilizes literature research method and logical analysis to explore the value implications,practical applications,real challenges,and pathways for implementing AI in promoting high-quality development in physical education.Value Implications:AI provides new momentum for the intelligent transformation of physical education;it presents innovative models for cultivating talent in sports;and it fosters a new ecosystem for the sustainable development of physical education.Practical Applications:AI enhances the precision and efficiency of teaching by PE teachers;it promotes scientific and transparent management in sports;and it improves the digital and refined services offered in sports.Real Challenges:These include challenges related to talent acquisition,cognitive understanding,management practices,and technology implementation.Pathways for Implementation:Key strategies include strengthening top-level design to support the sustainable development of“Intelligent+Physical Education,”providing diversified training in intelligent technologies to enhance the intelligent literacy of PE teachers,improving the intelligent PE system to optimize resource development,and enhancing data security in schools to mitigate the digital risks associated with the modernization of physical education.
