摘要
Dear Editor,Pre-harvest sprouting(PHS)is a major challenge to cereal crop production in areas with frequent rainfall at harvest time and has significant effects on grain yield and end-use quality(Lang et al.,2021).PHS is quantified by the dormancy/germination ratio of seeds and is largely regulated by two opposing phytohormones, abscisic acid(ABA)and gibberellin(GA)(Tai et al.,2021).ABA induces dormancy and suppresses PHS,whereas GA exerts the opposite effects(Finkelstein et al.,2008).Because of the complexity of the genome, only a few genes involved in regulation of PHS have been identified in wheat, and the underlying molecular regulatory mechanisms of PHS remain largely unknown in this species.
