Paneled decoration is a unique technique in ceramic decoration,and Jingdezhen kiln ceramics are representative of this style.The rise of ceramic paneled decoration in Jingdezhen kilns during the Yuan Dynasty plays a significant transitional role in linking past and future.This paper explores the characteristics and causes of ceramic paneled decoration in Jingdezhen kilns in the Yuan Dynasty through image analysis and comparative research methods.The materials,techniques,and contours of paneled decoration in Yuan Dynasty Jingdezhen ceramics exhibit diverse expressions,primarily influenced by Middle Eastern Islamic styles,foreign ceramic artisans,gold and silverware decoration in the Yuan Dynasty,and the“Nasich”(a kind of gilt brocade).Under the influence of various factors,the ceramic paneled decoration of the Jingdezhen kilns in the Yuan Dynasty shows distinctive diverse characteristics.
