As a prevalent central nervous system damage disease, traumatic brain injury(TBI)stands as a significant cause of mortality and disability among adults and children worldwide.TBI is often accompanied by stress-induced hyperglycemia(SIH),characterized by a temporary elevation of blood glucose levels caused by acute injury or other stress factors. The occurrence of SIH following TBI is closely associated with the mortality and prognosis of TBI patients. This review synthesizes the current understanding of SIH within the context of TBI,including its definition, mechanisms of occurrence, and impact on the body.Additionally,it discusses the current state of insulin and other treatment in TBI patients and explores potential research directions.
