Secondary hypertension is an increase in blood pressure caused by other underlying diseases.If the primary condition is controlled and the underlying cause is effectively treated,blood pressure can be managed and may even return to normal.Screening and treating secondary hypertension is crucial for the prognosis of hypertensive patients.This article reviews the screening and treatment of common forms of secondary hypertension to enhance clinicians’awareness and understanding of the condition,as well as to highlight the key points in its screening,diagnosis,and treatment.
