Research on Personal Information Avoidance Behavior from Stressor-Strain-Outcome Perspective——Empirical Analysis Based on Mixed Methods

[目的/意义]信息传播和交流方式的改变以及移动终端设备的普及给个人信息管理带来了过载和压力等问题,引发个人信息回避行为。探讨信息过载和系统功能过载等对个人信息回避行为的影响机理,有助于理解个人信息回避行为的发生过程和触发机制、优化信息推荐服务和信息管理工具使用体验。[方法/过程]采用混合研究方法,先运用扎根理论分析影响个人信息回避行为的关键因素,建构个人信息回避行为产生过程的理论模型;再借鉴压力源—应变—结果理论框架,通过定量研究验证个人信息回避行为影响因素的作用路径。[结果/结论]信息过载和系统功能过载正向影响情绪压力,进而导致个人信息回避行为,心理弹性负向调节系统功能过载和情绪压力的关系,信息素养负向调节信息过载和情绪压力的关系。本研究采用混合方法为理解个人信息回避行为形成机制提供了新的研究视角,为个人信息管理实践、信息推荐服务和信息管理工具优化完善提供启示。

[Purpose/Significance]The change of information dissemination and communication methods and the popularity of mobile terminal equipment have brought problems such as overload and stress to personal information management,triggering personal information avoidance behaviors.Investigating the mechanisms through which information overload and system feature overload influence personal information avoidance behavior is crucial for comprehending the occurrence process and triggers behind such behavior.Additionally,understanding these mechanisms can aid in optimizing the user experience with information recommendation services and information management tools.[Method/Process]Adopting a mixed research methodology,this study initially analyzed the key factors influencing personal information avoidance behavior using grounded theory.This process facilitated the construction of a theoretical model outlining the stages leading to the manifestation of personal information avoidance behavior.Subsequently,the study applied the theoretical framework of stressor-strain-outcome to empirically validate the pathways through which various factors influence personal information avoidance behavior in a quantitative research phase.[Result/Conclusion]Information overload and system feature overload positively affect emotional stress,and then lead to personal information avoidance behavior,resilience negatively regulates the relationship between system function overload and emotional stress;information literacy negatively regulates the relationship between information overload and emotional stress.The mixed approach in this study provides a new perspective for understanding the formation mechanism of personal information avoidance behavior,and provides insights for the optimization and improvement of personal information management practice,information recommendation services and information management tools.
