九江,是一座有着2200多年历史的江南名城。奔腾浩荡的长江、碧波荡漾的鄱阳湖和群峰连绵的庐山,共同构架出“一山独算、二水合流”的山水空间。九江地处中业热带向北业热带过渡区,属亚热带季风气候,四季分明,气候温和,光照充足,热量丰富,降水充沛,水系完整,生态系统完备优良,生物资源丰富多样。全市森林覆盖率56.44%,植物种类和种源达3400种以上,高等植物为2800余种,其中国家重点保护的珍稀植物多达86种。
