Dear authors and readers,Orbit determination is an old topic in celestial mechanics and astrodynamics.It originates from the need to determine the position and speed of natural or artificial objects in space through ground-station measurements,along with the need to estimate parameters involved in dynamics and observations.It has been the key to many important space applications.
