The Chinese Path to Modernization and Foreign Literature Studies:A Panel Discussion

在中国式现代化背景下,中国的外国文学研究和发展面临新的机遇和挑战。本期访谈邀请的四位学者围绕中国的外国文学研究在新的历史条件下如何发展、如何有效构建外国文学研究的“中国视角”提出了各自的真知灼见。在访谈中,四位教授深入阐述了中国式现代化进程中外国文学研究独特的价值和地位,并就外国文学研究高质量发展过程中的关键问题进行了剖析,包括中国的外国文学研究能否与时俱进;在新的历史阶段,中国文学研究者的世界观、文学观和方法论是否足以推进外国文学研究的高质量发展;如何不断开拓外国文学研究的“中国视角”,形成具有创新意义的中国外国文学的批评话语,并最终促进新质学术力的形成和提升。

In following the Chinese Path to Modernization,foreign literature studies in China face new opportunities and challenges.This issue invites four distinguished scholars to put forward their insights and valuable opinions on how could foreign literature studies develop under new historical conditions in China,and how can we effectively construct a“Chinese perspective”in the researches on foreign literature.They elaborate on the unique value and status of foreign literature research in Chinese new mode of modernization,and analyze such key issues in the high-quality growth of foreign literature research,as whether the study on foreign literature can keep pace with the times;whether the worldview,literary viewpoint,and methodology are adequate enough to promote the high-quality development of foreign literature study in the new historical stage;how could we continuously explore the“Chinese perspective”in foreign literature research,formulate innovative Chinese critical discourse on foreign literature,and ultimately promote the formation and enhancement of new quality academic productive forces in China.
