外语学科的区域国别之学:历史、转向与进路

摘要 跨越语言和文化的界限、深入理解不同国家和地区的独特特征,是外语学科一直以来关注的重点。外语学科下的区域国别之学经历了从学科领域兴起,到学科方向确立,再到学科门类独立的演变过程。当前该学科呈现出定位强调方向性、方法注重交叉性和内容凸显时代性等特征。其转向有助于推动学科间相互融合、赋能,促进文化多样性的相互尊重以及跨文化理解,支持国际合作和外交关系的发展,解决全球性问题。为更好应对当今世界面临的挑战,增进该学科内部的发展,本文指出,应通过“内外兼修”建构中国特色区域国别知识体系,以“知行并进”解决国家社会发展真问题,借助“人才互通”锻造外语学科核心竞争力,以“顺章理规”促进学科管理良性科学化,并通过“新技相扶”推动学科发展模式智能化。 It has always been a focus of foreign language studies to get across the boundaries of language and culture to deeply understand the unique characteristics of different countries and regions.The subfield of Area Studies within Foreign Language Studies has undergone an evolutionary process,from its emergence as a field of study,to the establishment of a clear disciplinary direction,and finally to its emergence as an independent academic category.Currently,this discipline is characterized by an emphasis on directional positioning,a focus on interdisciplinary methodologies,and the subjects that highlights contemporary relevance.Its transformation helps to promote mutual integration and empowerment among disciplines,facilitate the respect for cultural diversity and cross-cultural understanding,support the development of international cooperation and diplomatic relations,and solve global issues.To better address the challenges faced by today’s world and enhance the development within this discipline,this article points out that such new approaches should be adopted as constructing a knowledge system of regions and countries with Chinese characteristics through“internal and external cultivation,”solving real problems of national social development through“advancing knowledge and action simultaneously,”forging the core competitiveness of foreign language disciplines through“talent exchange,”promoting benign and scientific discipline management through“orderly regulation,”and driving intelligent development of the discipline through“the support of new technologies.”
