Values education is an important unit of school education,carrying the ontological functions of cultivating student'spirit of values,forging national consensus on values,and leading the direction of social values.Exploring the logic of action of values education in New Zealand schools from the perspectives of historical changes,policies and regulations,and diverse cultures will help to clarify its value orientation,value kernel and basic direction.It has cultivated outstanding New Zealand citizens by enriching students'knowledge of values through subject curricula,conducting outdoor education to enhance students'recognition of values,setting up counselor positions to deepen students'understanding of values,and guiding teachers to consciously enhance the effectiveness of values education.China shuould build a value education community with multi-principal linkage,explore the value education potential of subject curricula,promote outdoor education into value education in schools,and cultivate excellent value education teachers to nurture new generations who can adapt to the development of society in the future.
