Over the past 20 years since the introduction of the “Eight-Eight Strategy”,Zhejiang has consistently and resolutely implemented this initiative,driving rapid economic development.Capitalizing on its geographical,resources and other advantages,Wenzhou has aggressively pursued the development of its marine economy,allowing underdeveloped regions to achieve leapfrog development.Dongtou,in particular,has leveraged its island advantages to optimize and upgrade its traditional single industrial structure,extending into a diversified marine economic structure and achieving high-quality industrial development.Additionally,it has put significant efforts into ecological environment,balanced restoration and improvement,and advanced the construction of blue bays.Dongtou aims to transform its island advantages into a marine economy by benchmarking against world-class island resorts,creating unique cultural and tourism brands,and accelerating the establishment of transportation hubs alongside infrastructure renovations,to enhance the happiness of both foreign tourists and local residents.Dongtou is committed to becoming a true “garden on the sea”,pioneering a new model for shared prosperity on its islands and setting a Wenzhou Dongtou template for island development.
