Contemporary Public Emotion:Cyber Mourning and Young People of the Net Generation

随着社交媒体深度嵌入日常生活,并在人们面对生死的经历中扮演重要角色,各种形式的赛博悼念也相继出现。从近年来颇具争议性的现象出发,研究发现:赛博悼念呈现出日常化、社交化、轻量化等特征,情感空间充满张力与不确定性,出现情感转移、情感贬值、情感冲突等系列问题,弱化了空间中的情感共振;伴随评论发酵,延展性情感空间具备部分公共议事空间的功能,让参与者将目光投向文化规范、制度保障等社会问题;同时诱发人肉搜索、阵营分化、网络互撕等带有“饭圈”逻辑的行为。研究认为:当代青年对公共意义的理解与网络文化深度交织;缺失情感维度、娱乐精神的公共话语难以承载富有活力的线上交流。这种语境下形成的公共情感短暂、不稳定且可被利用,但同时折射出娱乐表象之下,青年超越理性维度促发公共讨论的潜力,以及在参与式文化中,情绪能量和激情正义对公共参与的启蒙作用。

As social media deeply embedding in people's daily lives and playing an important role in people's experience of life and death,various forms of online mourning are emerging.Based on several controversial online mourning phenomenon happened in recent years,the study found that the object of network mourning has changed from‘the dead’as life bodies to various forms.Meanwhile,online mourning presents characteristics of a daily practice with social functions,and the emotional space is full of tension and uncertainty,which have caused fluidity of this emotional space.In addition,with a series of problems such as the change of topics,emotional inflation and conflict,the emotional resonance in the space turn to be weakening.With the extending of comments,the online emotional space has begun to show functions of public space,allowing the participants to pay attention to social issues such as cultural norms and social security.However,behaviors of online‘human flesh search’,harsh disputation and the war of traffic competition have also emerged.Although this public emotion is short,and unstable,it reflects the possibility of online youth to promote public emotion beyond the traditional dimension with logic of network culture.
