生态翻译学视角下《颜氏家训》文化负载词的英译研究——以邓嗣禹译本为例

A Study on the English Translation of Cultural-Loaded Words in Yanshi Jiaxun from the Perspective of Eco-Translatology--A Case Study of Deng Siyu's Version

《颜氏家训》是中国第一部有关家庭教育的专著。《颜氏家训》中有众多文化负载词,研究文化负载词的翻译对于提高典籍翻译质量、促进跨文化交流具有重要意义。该文以《颜氏家训》邓嗣禹译本为例,基于生态翻译学理论,采用案例分析的方法,从语言维、文化维和交际维三个层面,对《颜氏家训》邓嗣禹英译本中文化负载词的翻译进行研究和分析。结果表明,译者采用了灵活的翻译策略与方法,如直译加注、归化、意译及音译,完美展现出了生态翻译学的思维。研究结果以期为中国古代典籍中文化负载词的英译研究提供新的视角,促进中国文化“走出去”。

Yanshi Jiaxun is the first specialized work on family education in China.This classic work contains numerous cultural-loaded words.And the study of the English translation of cultural-loaded words is of significance in enhancing the quality of the translation of classics and promoting cross-cultural communication.This study takes Deng Siyu's English translation of Yanshi Jiaxun as an example and analyzes the translation of cultural-loaded words from the dimensions of language,culture,and communication based on the theory of eco-translatology and the method of case study.The findings suggest that,the translators adopts flexible translation strategies and methods,such as literal translation with annotation,domestication,free translation and transliteration,which perfectly demonstrate the thinking of ecological translation.It is hoped that the findings provide new perspectives for the study of English translation of cultural-loaded words in ancient Chinese classics,and to promote the globalization of Chinese culture.
