摘要
杨宪益、戴乃迭《孔乙己》译本在美国学界和教育领域广泛传播,并受到美国学者的好评,成为中华优秀传统文化走出去的重要体现。布迪厄社会学理论关注社会实践和符号系统之间的相互作用,强调社会因素对个体行为的塑造作用。本文从社会学理论三大核心概念出发,剖析社会因素对该译本翻译策略选取产生的影响,即译者所处的时代背景、社会需求、出版社要求及其实践过程中积累的文化资本和惯习都影响着《孔乙己》翻译策略的选取。
The translation of Kong Yiji by Yang Xianyi and Yang Gladys has been widely disseminated in the academic and educa-tional fields of the United States,and has been well received by American scholars,becoming an important embodiment of the ex-cellent traditional Chinese culture going global.Bourdieu’s sociological theory focuses on the interaction between social practices and symbolic systems,emphasizing the role of social factors in shaping individual behavior.Starting from the three core concepts of sociological theory,this paper analyzes the influence of social factors on the selection of translation strategies for this translation.It is found that the contemporary background of the translators,the social needs,the publisher’s requirements,as well as the cultural capital and habits accumulated during his practice,all influence the selection of translation strategies for Kong Yiji.
