摘要
藏族作家阿来善用细腻的笔触描写感官体验,构建立体化的藏地故事。文章以阿来早期短篇小说《生命》及其两个英译本为例,探讨不同译者对视觉、听觉、触觉感官描写的翻译策略,揭示两个译本感官体验效果差异。研究发现,巴特偏重采用归化策略,在译文中重构了感官体验效果。葛凯伦和陈泽平则更注重异化策略,力求再现感官效果,为译入语读者提供了更接近原作的感官体验。译者的翻译目的、翻译策略、翻译模式与文学特质的有效传递关系紧密。把握原文文学特质,再现文学审美内涵,对当代民族文学外译的良性发展具有重要意义。
Tibetan writer Alai is renowned for his delicate portrayal of sensory experiences,which vividly con-structs the multi-dimensional world of Tibetan narratives.This study examines Alai's early short story"Sheng-ming"and its two English translations,exploring the translators’strategies for visual,auditory,and tactile senso-ry descriptions.The analysis reveals significant differences in the sensory effects achieved by the two transla-tions.Herbert J.Batt emphasizes a domesticating strategy,reconstructing sensory experiences in the target lan-guage.In contrast,Karen Gernant and Chen Zeping adopt a foreignizing strategy,aiming to reproduce the senso-ry effects and offering English readers a sensory experience closer to the original text.The translators'objectives,strategies,and models are closely related to the effective transmission of literary qualities.Understanding and re-producing the literary aesthetics of the original work is crucial for the dissemination of contemporary ethnic liter-ature.
