The arrival of the digital and intelligent age provides a chance for the development of digital finance and urban-rural integration.Based on panel data from 31 provincial-level regions in China from 2011 to 2021,the urban-rural integration index was calculated using the entropy value method, and panel fixed-effects were used to empirical test the impact of digital finance on urban-rural integration. The research results show that digital finance can significantly improve the level of urban-rural integration,Moreover, fiscal polarization has a regulatory effect, which will suppress the promoting effect of digital finance on urban-rural integration. From the heterogeneity test, there are structural heterogeneity and geographical heterogeneity. From the perspective of structural heterogeneity, the impact of digital finance coverage on urban-rural integration is the strongest, followed by the impact of usage depth, and the impact of digitalization degree is the weakest. From the perspective of geographical heterogeneity, the promoting effect of digital finance development in the eastern region on urban-rural integration is stronger than that in the central and western regions. Finally, countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to fully implement the strategy of enabling rural revitalization by digital finance and realize the integrated and balanced development of urban and rural areas.
