Medical College Admission Test(MCAT)is a standardized,computer-based exam composed of multiple-choice questions. It focuses on testing fundamental concepts in a number of disciplines, such as biology, chemistry, physics, psychology and sociology.Clear requirements have also been put forward for examinees to possess critical analysis and reasoning skills,as well as scientific inquiry and reasoning skills. The score of this exam provides an efficient and objective basis for comparing and selecting applicants.Meanwhile, relevant institutions suggest conducting a comprehensive evaluation of medical school applicants to avoid adverse effects on the diversity of admitted medical students due to excessive reliance on MCAT exam scores.Drawing on relevant experiences of the United States,China should establish a standardized exam that is suitable for the selection of medical students, and comprehensively assess their medical potential through interviews and other measures.
