The integrated development of urban and rural areas is an important strategy for achieving rural revitalization.Digital technology can play a linking and activating role,building a channel connecting cities and serving rural areas,empowering rural revitalization from policy guidance,industrial development,resource development,rural governance,and cultivating farmers'digital thinking.While digital technology empowerment accelerates the integration of urban and rural development and serves rural revitalization,it also faces many challenges such as cultural conflicts,urban-rural gaps,technological barriers,and practical deviations.Local governments should accelerate the shaping of a cultural environment that is mutually beneficial and symbiotic with digital technology empowerment for rural revitalization,ensure the practical and inclusive direction of relevant practices,strengthen the construction of rural digital infrastructure,activate the hidden strength of rural areas,and form a driving force for internal and external linkage and urban-rural integration development.
