This paper expounds the purpose,content,teaching method of book design teaching and the problems that are prone to occur in traditional book design teaching,etc.Then,from the changes of book design process,breakthroughs in book forms,rich materials,unique printing technology and widening of binding methods,it analyzes and discusses that concept book design is a beneficial supplement to traditional book design in book design teaching.It is one of the important methods for colleges to train and improve students'creative thinking ability,and it is also the guarantee for more high-quality traditional book design to be realized.
