左卡尼汀及其衍生物在常见眼科疾病治疗中的研究进展

Research Progress of L-carnitine and its Derivatives in the Treatment of Common Ophthalmic Diseases

左卡尼汀的主要作用是促进脂类代谢,近年来被发现在眼科疾病治疗中获益。本文总结近年来左卡尼汀在眼部疾病中的应用情况,发现其具有渗透保护、抗氧化、抑制炎症因子和纤维化进程、降低晶状体蛋白糖基化水平、维持晶状体稳态、恢复线粒体功能、保护视神经等药理机制,对干眼症、白内障、视网膜黄斑变性等眼表、眼底病存在治疗或辅助治疗作用,有望进一步开发成为眼科用药。

L-carnitine is widely used in promotion of lipid metabolism and recent studies have been shown the potentiality in ophthalmic diseases.In this paper,we summarized its clinical and pharmacological researches in recent years.It is found that it has therapeutic potential for ocular surface and fundus diseases such as dry eye,cataract,retinal macular degeneration through osmoprotection,anti-oxidation,inhibition of inflammatory factors and fibrosis process,reduction of crystallin glycosylation level,maintenance of lens homeostasis,recovery of mitochondrial function,and protection of optic nerve.It is expected to be further developed as an ophthalmic drug.
