Compared with the traditional berthing against the current,the operation of the super large container ship was difficult and the risk factor was higher.In the event of an unexpected situation,such as a failure of the main engine to reverse during operations,it was more difficult to deal with and resolve the danger,and once the operation was improper,it was bound to have serious consequences and impact on the dock facilities and berthing vessels.By analyzing actual cases,combining the maneuvering characteristics of ultra-large container ships and the actual situation of Nansha Port,as well as widely exchanging and discussing the solutions among the pilots,we have given the risk prevention and control indexes of the key points of the operation in the downstream berthing and the emergency operation plan in case of backing up,so as to ensure the safety of the berthing,and also give full play to the advantages of the downstream berthing technology.
