On the Issues Related to the Origin and Standardization of Manas

Manas,one of the three great epics in China,is a renowned epic of considerable length that reflects all aspects of the history,culture,and social life of the ancient Kyrgyz people.Its content covers a wide range,including the myths and legends of the ancient Kyrgyz people,such as the legends of their struggles with the Khitans in the 10th-12th centuries,and brief mentions of the Mongolian expeditions in the 13th-14th centuries.This paper analyzes the main viewpoints on the origin and standardization of the epic Manas and presents our own insights.
