During Yang Zhensheng's tenure as the head of National Qingdao University,he explicitly stated that the university's role was to enhance human intellect,promote social productivity,cultivate knowledgeable and capable youth,and integrate the best of both Chinese and foreign cultures to create new culture.By establishing basic rules for democratic management and faculty governance,he creatively initiated the development path for the university's marine science disciplines.His strict approach quickly set the newly established university on the right track.When Zhao Taimou took over as the head of National Shandong University,he followed Yang Zhensheng's educational philosophy and further developed it.Both presidents adhered to a consistent blueprint,leading the newly established university to rapid growth within seven years,rising as a promising national university and laying a strong foundation in disciplines and talent.The educational philosophies of Presidents Yang and Zhao,especially their humanistic values,continue to offer profound lessons and inspiration today.
