This xu was excavated from the site of ancient Lu City and is now part of the Confucius Museum collection. The lidded vessel has the shape of a rounded rectangle, and is flanked by two applied animal head handles. The lid features a tiger-shaped knob and four symmetrically opposed one-legged dragons in high relief on top.The rims of the knobbed lid and the vessel,as well as the foot ring, are decorated with bands of interlacing patterns.Animal designs and tile patterns cover the remaining surface of the lid, while tile patterns enclose the body of the vessel.
