摘要
19末至20世纪初,在美国学者恩内斯特·费诺罗萨(Ernest Francisco Fenollosa,1853—1908)的学术引领和号召力推动下,几大美国博物馆纷纷举办了中国美术展览。其间佛教题材的唐宋卷轴画被置于焦点之位,成为理解东方审美、文化的重要载体。这一时期,中国佛画的西传与鉴藏,是中学西渐的重要印证,亦是近代“中国观”嬗变的一个微观缩影。
At the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries,under the academic leadership and appeal of the American scholar Ernest Francisco Fenollosa(1853-1908),several major American museums held their first exhibitions of Chinese art.In the meantime,Tang and Song scroll paintings with Buddhist themes were placed in the focus of attention and became important for understanding Eastern aesthetics and culture.During this period,the dissemination and collection of Chinese Buddhist paintings to the west is an important testimony of the Chinese Literature spreading to the West,and also a microcosm of the transmutation of the“view of China”in modern times.
