Zhang Huanhu′s experience in treating stomach pain from the liver

胃痛是临床常见的消化系统疾病。中医学称之为“胃脘痛”,指以上腹部近心窝处疼痛为主要表现的病症。随着社会的发展,胃脘痛的发病率呈逐年增高的趋势,且易于复发,严重影响人们的身心健康。引起胃脘痛的原因复杂多样,西医以对症治疗为主,中医药针对个体辨证施治,治疗优势显著。张桓虎教授在多年临证过程中发现,胃脘痛由肝失疏泄、气血瘀滞所致肝胃不和之象颇多。其认为胃脘痛虽病位在胃,但病因多与肝相关。基于“治肝可以安胃”思想,总结得出从肝论治胃脘痛经验,从疏肝气、活肝血、养肝阴等方面入手,审证求因,灵活施治,随症加减,并结合现代药理学研究进行组方,配合日常调护,防治结合,临床效果显著。

Stomach pain is a common disease of digestive system in clinic.In traditional Chinese medicine,it is called epigastric pain,which refers to the pain in the upper abdomen near the heart pit as the main manifestation of the disease.With the development of society,the incidence of epigastric pain is increasing year by year,and it is easy to recur,which seriously affects people′s physical and mental health.The causes of epigastric pain are complex and varied.Western medicine mainly focuses on symptomatic treatment,while traditional Chinese medicine treats the disease from individual syndrome differentiation with significant treatment advantage.In the course of many years of clinical practice,Professor Zhang Huanhu finds that epigastric pain is caused by liver-stomach disharmony due to failure of liver to convey and disperse and stagnation of Qi and blood.He believes that although the disease is located in the stomach,the cause is mostly related to the liver.Based on the idea of“treating the liver to calm the stomach”,Prof.Zhang Huanhu summarizes the experience of treating epigastric pain from the liver.The treatment can start from the aspects of soothing the liver-Qi,invigorating the liverblood and nourishing the liver-Yin,etc.,which has the characteristics of determination of etiologic factors based on differentiation and flexible treatment and flexiblity in its treatment.This method can be modified according to the different symptoms,and be combined with modern pharmacological research to form the prescription,supplemented with daily care to achieve prevention and treatment integrated.The clinical effect is remarkable.
