With the rapid development of information technology and the transformation of higher education model,university library,as the core of academic research,education and teaching,and cultural heritage,is facing the new demand of space and function opti‐mization.Through in-depth analysis of users'learning research needs,leisure communication needs and technical resource needs,this paper probes into the flexibility of the spatial layout of the library,the comfortable design of the learning environment and the rational planning of the functional areas.Furthermore,it puts forward the ways of library function expansion,including strengthening academic support service,enriching cultural activities and communication platform,promoting digital resources and technology application,it aims to provide users with a more comfortable,efficient and diversified service experience.
