《中国日报》和《纽约时报》有关事件系列报道的批评话语分析

A Comparative Study of News Discourse of the Crash of China Eastern Airlines Between China Daily and the New York Times

本文从批评话语分析的角度,以系统功能语法为研究工具,对《中国日报》和《纽约时报》中有关东航坠机事件的系列报道进行对比分析,旨在探究中美两国媒体在灾难事件话语建构方面的差异以及背后隐藏的原因。研究发现,《中国日报》尽可能客观地还原了事件真相,详述了事件发生后政府的积极应对以及社会各方面的全力配合,而《纽约时报》则主要呈现对事件的消极评价以及对中国政府的恶意揣测,其根源在于美国的霸权主义思想无法理性对待中国的崛起,企图通过放大、伪造国内社会矛盾达到批评中国政治体制的目的。

This paper compares a series of news reports of China Daily and The New York Times on the incident concerning the crash of China Eastern Airlines,in order to explore the differences in discursive construction between the two newspapers and the reasons behind it.It is found that China Daily restored the truth of the incident as objectively as possible.However,The New York Times presented mainly negative evaluations of the incident and malicious speculations about the Chinese government,which were rooted in the U.S.hegemonic ideology.
