Ancient Egyptian mythology had a profound impact on its artistic expression,which can be seen in the symbolic layout of tombs and the orientation of murals.The mythological system constructed by the ancient Egyptians based on their interpretation of natural phenomena not only shaped their unique view of life and death,but also profoundly influenced the creation of tomb art.To ensure the harmonious unity of the tomb layout and religious beliefs,the ancient Egyptians cleverly adopted symbolic orientations and changed the layout of murals in the tombs.This article will take the orientation of private tombs and the symbolic layout of murals during the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt as an example to explore how the ancient Egyptians reproduced mythological ideas in art.
