How Digital Transformation of Banks Impacts SMEs Financing Service?

银行数字化转型是普惠金融的重要支撑,能够缓解银企信息不对称、提高信贷精准度,破解小微企业融资难题。本文基于运营成本和信息挖掘视角,利用2017—2021年97家商业银行的数据,实证分析了银行数字化转型和小微信贷供给的关系及机制。研究发现,银行数字化与小微信贷供给呈现“倒U型”关系,即存在最优数字化水平,最大化小微信贷供给。异质性分析发现,银行规模越大,曲线拐点越靠后、曲线越平滑,且这一趋势在战略型数字化和业务型数字化转型路径中更明显。从作用机制来看,运营成本、信息甄别能力是银行数字化转型影响小微信贷供给的两个主要路径。进一步的研究发现,互联网金融对银行数字化与小微信贷供给之间的关系有显著的协同作用。

The digital transformation of banks is an important part of fnancial inclusion,which can alleviate the information asymmetry between banks and enterprises,improve the accuracy of credit,and provide an important path for solving the financing problems of small and micro enterprises.Using the data of 97 banks duing 2017-2021 in china and adopting a cost efficency and information mining efficiency perspective,this paper empirically analyzes the relationship and mechanism between digital transformation of banks and small and micro credit supply.This paper fnds that there is an"inverted U-shaped"relationship between bank digital transformation and small and micro credit supply,that is,there is an optimal level of digitalization to maximize the supply of small and micro credit.The heterogeneity analysis indicates that the larger the bank scale,the further back the inflection point of the curve and the smoother the curve,and the"inverted U-shaped"is more abvious among strategic digitalization and business digitalization transformation.Mechanism test fnds that cost effcency and information mining effciency are the key channels through which bank digital transformation influences small and micro credit supply.Furthermore,the internet fnance has a signifcant synergistic effect on the relationship between digital transformation of banks and small and micro credit supply.
