Improving the reproductive performance of sows is one of the important measures to increase the economic benefits of pig farming and promote the development of the pig industry.Plant extracts are a type of biologically active substance with effects such as antioxidant,microbial composition regulation,and immune modulation.Plant extracts can improve reproductive physiological processes of sows,thereby improving the reproductive performance of sows and the productive performance of their offpring.This article mainly summarizes the types and biological characteristics of plant extracts,elucidates the potential effects and mechanisms of plant extracts on sow estrus,pregnancy occurrence and maintenance,and lactation,providing a reference for further research on plant extracts and their application in sow production.
