Delusions is considered one of the most severe psychiatric symptoms in patients with Parkinson’s disease(PD).Delusions not only seriously affect the daily life of people with PD,they can also lead to placement in nursing homes or mental health hospitals,and even increase their case fatality rate.This article provides a comprehensive overview of delusions in PD patients,including their categories,assessment tools,and influencing factors.It also extensively discusses the impact of delusions on patients and their caregivers,along with potential intervention measures.The aim is to provide a scientific basis for preventing and alleviating delusional symptoms in individuals with Parkinson’s disease.Future research should focus on exploring the factors influencing delusions in PD patients,developing specific assessment tools,and formulating targeted intervention strategies to effectively address this challenge.
