Complex coacervation refers to the liquid-liquid phase separation phenomenon that occurs due to the electrostatic attraction between polymers with opposite charges.Key factors influencing complex coacervation include the charge stoichiometry,pH value, and ionic strength, all of which play crucial roles in the formation and stability of coacervates. The applications of complex coacervation materials are extremely diverse, including the encapsulation of molecules, serving as drug delivery systems to enhance therapeutic efficiency and reduce side effects, developing efficient underwater adhesives, and acting as chemical reactors and biosensors. These applications utilize the responsiveness of complex coacervation materials to ionic strength,pH value, and other environmental factors, bringing innovative solutions in the fields of nutritional health, biomedical science, and green synthesis.
