Objective:To explore the effect of Avagard rinse-free hand sanitizer(hand sanitizer)on complete blood count analysis.Methods:Fifty-four samples were randomly selected for complete blood count in Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University at April 2022.180μL of samples was added into 0,6,15,30μL of hand sanitizer to observe the effect on various quotas of complete blood count detection. Results:The experimental results indicated that eosinophil increased and hemoglobin decreased at 6μL of added hand sanitizer compared with control group(all P<0.05).When the amount of added hand sanitizer got to 15μL,mean corpuscular hemoglobin, red cell distribution width and mean corpuscular volume all increased, lymphocyte, neutrophil, monocyte and RBC decreased(all P<0.05).When the amount of added hand sanitizer got to 30μL,the above indicators followed the same trend.Meanwhile, mean platelet volume and platelet distribution width increased,Basophil and mean corpuscular hemoglobin cincentration decreased(all P<0.05).Conclusion:The hand sanitizer could influence complete blood count analytical results. In order to avoid detected errors because of pollution, the right use of hand sanitizer should be careful in blood collection procedure, particularly in the peripheral blood collection of infant.
