As society progresses,the protection and activation of cultural heritage have increasingly come into focus.Historical cultural streets,serving as vital vessels of historical legacy and a distinctive category of cultural heritage,inherently embody a rich historical and cultural essence.The ongoing significance of cultural continuance throughout their development is evident and needs no further elaboration.This paper focuses on the genetic elements of the historical relics of Dongliu Old Street in Chizhou,integrating cultural gene theory into the enduring legacy of the ancient street.It delves deeply into the cultural genes of the old street,offering profound insights for the preservation and heritage of its cultural assets.Through meticulous categorization and the construction of a cultural gene map,the unique and rich cultural nuances of the old street are unveiled.Moreover,steadfast dedication to establishing literary credibility reveals pathways for the protection and revitalization of the historical narrative of ancient streets in southern Anhui,proposing multiple innovative routes for their activation and use.These efforts aim to invigorate the sustainable development of historical and cultural districts.
