In recent years,with the acceleration of urbanization,urban gas pipeline,as an important urban infra-structure,has become an inevitable trend in the integrated application of utility tunnel.Based on this,the basic de-velopment status and necessity of utility tunnel for urban gas pipeline access in China are discussed,and it is pointed out that under the background of rapid urbanization,the traditional direct burial method of urban gas pipeline is ob-viously difficult to meet the basic needs of urban development.The introduction of utility tunnel in urban gas pipe-lines can achieve higher space utilization efficiency and reduce the impact on the surrounding environment.How-ever,the gas pipeline entering utility tunnel is also facing a series of challenges such as the increase of construction costs,the difficulty of operation and maintenance,and the difficulty of unifying technical standards.Through in-depth analysis and research,the specific advantages and defects of utility tunnel of urban gas pipeline are clarified,and effective countermeasures such as optimizing design and perfecting technical standards are put forward in order to provide effective reference for urban gas pipelines entering utility tunnel.
