摘要
互联网促进我国经济高质量发展的同时,减少了碳排放,提升了碳生产率。基于2011—2021年省级面板数据,采用固定效应模型探讨互联网发展对碳生产率的影响。研究结果表明:互联网发展有助于提升碳生产率,在利用滞后一期互联网发展水平的解释变量替换及“宽带中国”战略前后进行区分时间段回归等稳健性检验后仍然成立。异质性分析发现,互联网对西部碳生产率提升作用明显,对东中部影响不明显;互联网发展对经济发展水平较低地区的促进作用较强,经济发展水平较高地区的促进作用较弱。进一步研究表明,互联网发展通过优化产业结构进而对碳生产率产生影响。因此,各经济体的政策制定者应加快互联网发展,促进碳生产率的提升并务实政策着力点。
While promoting high-quality economic development in China,the Internet has reduced carbon emissions and improved carbon productivity.Based on provincial panel data from 2011 to 2021,a fixed-effect model is used to explore the impact of Internet development on carbon productivity.The results of the study show that Internet development helps to improve carbon productivity,which still holds true after robustness tests such as replacing the explanatory variables with the one-period-lagged Internet development level and conducting regression by distinguishing time periods before and after the"Broadband China"strategy.Heterogeneity analysis reveals that the Internet has a significant effect on carbon productivity in western regions,but not obvious in eastern and central regions;meanwhile,the Internet development has a stronger effect on regions with a lower level of economic development,and a weaker effect on regions with a higher level of economic development.Further research indicates that Internet development affects carbon productivity by optimizing the industrial structure.Therefore,policymakers in each economy should accelerate the development of the Internet,promote carbon productivity and pragmatic policy focus.
