北京地区737例老年患者药品说明书阅读问题调研及适老化探讨

Survey of problem in reading drug instructions in elderly patients and age-friendly modifications

目的分析老年患者阅读药品说明书存在的问题,探讨其改进的必要性,提出符合老年人需求的改进建议。方法基于对北京地区老年患者的调研,了解患者对说明书的理解程度,分析患者阅读说明书时存在的问题,收集患者对说明书的改进建议。结果问卷将患者理解药品说明书的程度分为不看说明书、基本不能看懂、部分能看懂、能看懂,除了患者的性别与理解说明书的程度无关外,患者的年龄、受教育程度、同住情况都与基本不能看懂说明书的人数有关(P<0.05)。在阅读药品说明书时,62.55%的人认为用词太专业、63.09%的人指出内容太多、88.06%的人提出字太小,但都与患者的性别、年龄、受教育程度、同住情况无关(P>0.05)。结论被调查的老年群体一致认为,药品说明书的内容应该及时更新、不断改进。为适合老年人的需求,药品说明书在内容、格式、字体大小等方面应该进行修改和完善,以充分发挥其指导作用。

Objective To determine the problems in reading drug instructions among elderly patients,and suggest age-friendly modifications.Methods Based on a survey of elderly patients in Beijing area,we aimed to understand the level of patients comprehension regarding drug instructions,analyze the problems and collect suggestions for improvement.Results The questionnaire divided the patients’ability to understand drug instructions into four levels:ignore the instruction,basically unable to understand,the instruction partial understanding of the instruction,and understand the instruction.Except for the patient’s gender,which was unrelated to the comprehension level,factors such as age,education level,and co-living situation were all related to the number of people who could not understand the instructions;there was a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).When reading drug instructions,62.55% believed that too many jargons were used,63.09% pointed out that the content was too much,and 88.06% complained about too small font size.But all these were irrelevant to the patient’s gender,age,education level,and co-living situations(P>0.05).Conclusion Medication instructions should be timely updated and continuously improved.To suitable to the needs of the elderly,medication instructions should be modified and from content,format,font size,and other aspects,fully leveraging their guiding role for other elderly.
