Ecologism and consumerism are two opposing social ideologies that hold fundamentally different attitudes towards the relationship between ecological protection and economic development.Ecologism aims to protect the natural environment,prioritizing ecological preservation even at the expense of development.In contrast,consumerism focuses more on economic growth and fulfilling human needs,often willing to sacrifice the environment.This opposition fundamentally illustrates the irreconcilable or unbalanced relationship between environmental protection and economic development,a zero-sum game that is an inevitable product of technological advancement at a certain stage(industrial society).The advent of the intelligent revolution has brought about epoch-making technological development,transitioning humanity from an industrial society to an intelligent society.With the widespread use of artificial intelligence,intelligent production becomes possible,allowing real-time monitoring and adjustment of production processes to precisely control energy consumption and material usage,thereby reducing waste and pollution and achieving efficient resource utilization.Intelligent technology also enables a sustainable improvement in consumption levels without harming the ecological environment,allowing the contemporary development paradigm of consumption-driven production to align with ecological protection.Intelligent green production,intelligent green consumption,and the direct environmental effects of intelligent technology make it possible to achieve economic development and ecological protection simultaneously.Intelligent civilization emerges as a new form of civilization that integrates consumer civilization and ecological civilization,allowing the reasonable claims of both ecologism and consumerism to be reconciled and reconstructing them into mutually reinforcing relationships,thereby showcasing the prospect of human civilization entering a higher form.
