Recent reports from multiple regions in China indicate increases in the number of births in the first half of 2024,compared with the same period in 2023,a noteworthy development following two consecutive years of negative population growth in 2022 and 2023.In Guangdong Province,for example,the number of births rose by 1.4 percent year on year during the first six months of the year,as announced by Liu Fenghua,deputy head of Guangdong Women and Children Hospital,in July.
