As the calling card of a city, tourist attraction signs play a crucial role in conveying information and promoting local culture to domestic and international visitors.Accurate and precise signage not only enhances visitor experiences but also improves the city's image and effectively tells China's story to the world.Dinghu Mountain Scenic Area, being China's first natural reserve with unique cultural landscapes, attracts tourists from both home and abroad.Through on-site investigation of the Japanese signage at Dinghu Mountain,it was found that the translations suffer from various issues such as grammatical errors, vocabulary mistakes, and both"hard"and"soft"problems. These problems stem from inadequate understanding of the linguistic and cultural differences between Chinese and Japanese by translators,as well as insufficient supervision. This paper analyzes the existing issues in the Japanese signage at the scenic area and proposes corresponding strategies to address them, aiming to provide valuable insights for standardizing the translation of signage in tourist attractions.
