洗澡是人类基本的生理需求,源于人追求身体愉悦的本能。历史上,洗浴曾一度被仪式化。近世以来,洗浴回归人们的基本生活日常,成为日常生活的一部分。近代中国人的洗澡,多数还是就地取材,不同地区、不同环境下形成不同的洗澡习惯。澡堂是近代社会兴起的集中洗浴场所,它除了完成洗浴功能,还承载着一些社会功能,显示了近代社会趋于组织化后,各个方面都被笼罩进政治大网的发展方向。

Bathing is a basic physiological need of humans,rooted in the instinct for physical comfort.Historically,bathing was once ritualized.In modern times,bathing has returned to being a part of daily life.In modern China,most people bathed using locally available resources,with different bathing habits forming in various regions and environments.Bathhouses,emerging in modern society as communal bathing spaces,not only fulfilled the function of bathing but also carried social functions,reflecting the trend of modern society towards organization,where all aspects became integrated into a broader political framework.
