Objective To explore the curative effect of one-time root canal on pulp necrosis and chronic periapical inflammation of mandibular first molar. Methods A total of eighty patients with pulp necrosis and chronic periapical periodontitis of mandibular first molar treated in Nanjing Jiangning Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2022 to February 2024 were non-randomly selected as the study objects and divided into two groups according to different treatment plans, with forty cases in each group. The observation group underwent one-time root canal treatment, while the control group underwent multiple root canal treatment. The therapeutic indexes, therapeutic effect and pain degree of the two groups were compared. Results The pain disappearance time, treatment time and treatment times in the observation group were better than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.50%(39/40),higher than 75.00%(30/40)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=8.538,P<0.05).The degree of pain in the observation group was less than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclu⁃sion In the treatment of pulp necrosis and chronic periapical periodontitis of mandibular first molar,one-time root canal therapy is effective and safe.
