生成式人工智能时代的翻译实践与翻译教育:从工具行为到交往行为

摘要 生成式人工智能的狂突进,大语言模型的智能涌现,正在给翻译实践和翻译教育领域带来深刻变革,也成为翻译学界和业界深思与热议的话题。本文拟从生成式人工智能的“类人”特点及产生的影响、当前在翻译表现上的优势与不足出发,结合符号学意义三重性理论和哈贝马斯交往行为理论,阐述生成式人工智能时代我们为何要以及应如何重塑翻译实践观、重识人机关系、重构翻译教育观,并重建相关行为原则,尝试从观念和行为两个层面对生成式人工智能给翻译实践与教学带来的重大变革提出思考。 The rapid developments in Generative AI(GenAI),along with the fast-expanding capabilities of large language models,are bringing profound changes to the field of translation practice and education,which has given rise to a significant topic for discussion and debate among translation scholars and practitioners.This paper explores GenAI's“human-like” characteristics,its impacts on the performance of translation,and the strengths and weaknesses of its current applications in the field.The author reflects on the reason and the manner for translation practice to adapt to the new technological breakthroughs by drawing on the semiotic theory of meaning and Habermas's theory of communicative action.Taking the human-AI relationships into full account,the paper calls for revamping the principles of action for translators and rethinking the education of translation in the GenAI era.
