Brief Report of Excavation of Four Warring States Tombs at Wuliping Cemetery in Lanshan of Hunan

蓝山县五里坪墓群新发现了四座战国墓,从葬俗和随葬品情况来看,其中一座为典型越墓,三座为典型楚墓。五里坪战国墓的发现意义十分重大,不仅为探讨楚国南界提供了重要线索,也为讨论南平古城的始建年代提供了新的契机,亦为深入研究战国时期湘南地区楚越文化交流与族群融合提供了新资料。

The recent discovery of four Warring States tombs at the Wuliping cemetery in Lanshan County of Hunan Province reveals significant insights into burial customs and grave goods.Among these,one tomb is identified as a typical Yue tomb,while the other three are characteristic of Chu tombs.The discovery of these Warring States tombs is of great significance,it not only provides important clues for exploring the southern boundary of the Chu state,but also offers new opportunities for discussing the founding date of the Ancient City of Nanping.Furthermore,it contributes new data for the in-depth study of cultural exchanges and ethnic integration between the Chu and Yue cultures in present-day southern Hunan during the Warring States period.
