摘要
美国华裔作家邝丽莎致力于讲述中国故事、传播中国声音,在《上海女孩》这部作品中,邝丽莎从个人历史和民间叙事的视角,部分还原了华裔移民历史和民间传统,描绘了战争、种族歧视、不平等条约等给华裔带来的精神、身体双重伤害,契合新历史主义的历史观。从新历史主义视角分析这部作品,回顾这段被主流话语掩盖、甚至被歪曲和遗忘的历史,挑战美国主流意识形态与文化霸权,能帮助在双重文化夹缝中生存的华裔美国人对文化冲突以及种族歧视的反思,使美国华裔后代更好地重塑历史意识、建构主体身份。同时,也为其他少数族裔通过以讲故事的方式,探索挖掘被掩盖或被边缘化的种族历史提供借鉴。
Chinese American writer Lisa See is dedicated to telling Chinese stories and disseminating Chinese voices.In Shanghai Girls,See partially restores the history and folk traditions of Chinese immigrants from the perspectives of personal history and folk narratives,depicting the dual spiritual and physical harm inflicted on Chinese Americans by war,racial discrimination,and unequal treaties,which aligns with the historical perspective of New Historicism.Analyzing this work from a New Historicism perspective,revisiting history that has been obscured,distorted,or forgotten by mainstream narratives,and challenging American mainstream ideologies and cultural hegemony can assist Chinese Americans who survive in the crevice of dual cultures in reflecting on cultural conflicts and racial discrimination,enabling subsequent generations of Chinese Americans to better reshape historical consciousness and construct their subjective identities.Simultaneously,it provides a reference for other ethnic minorities to explore and excavate obscured or marginalized racial histories through storytelling.
