Emergency information access behavior of urban elderly living alone in major public health emer-gencies can reduce health risks, alleviate cognitive dissonance, and obtain psychological support. In order to understand the current situation of emergency information access behaviors of urban elderly living alone, the article takes COVID-19 epidemic as an example, and investigates the basic situation of urban elderly living alone in terms of perceived emergency information needs, willingness to search for emergency information, emergency information selection channels, and the content of emergency information utilization. It is concluded that high behavioral willingness of elderly people living alone in cities has not resulted in high-quality content, satisfaction with emergency information needs is related to lack of information ability, and technological ease has become a condition for diversified utilization.Based on the above analysis, strategies are proposed to optimize the access to emergency information for the urban elderly living alone, including optimizing the quality of information and providing high-quality content, setting up support classes and implementing skills education, focusing on technological convenience and advocating digital inclusion.
